Staff Pastor/Teaching Elder – Trailview Church


Summary
Trailview Church (https://trailviewchurch.org) is seeking a full-time Pastor who is devoted to following Jesus Christ and a heart for reaching the community to make disciples. This role will work closely with our elder team and will be the primary preaching/teaching elder in the church (40-42 Sundays/year).

Who we are:
Trailview Church is a non-denominational church located in Lebanon, Indiana. We believe the Church is
comprised of people from all backgrounds, ages, ethnicities and family status. We rejoice in our unity in
Christ as we seek to live out the church’s identity as the Family of God, the Body of Christ, the Bride of
Christ, the Temple of God!


As a local church, we strive to follow Jesus as the Head of the Church and of our church. We commit to
live together in community and to obey Jesus’ commands while loving one another. Each Sunday we
gather to express our worship through Christ-centered biblical preaching, prayer, song, reading Scripture,
and sharing in the Lord's Supper. Our hope is that our services are a warm, welcoming, age diverse family
gathering.


Trailview Church grew out of a partnership with West Bridge Church and Lebanon Bible Baptist Church
and exists to display the Gospel in Word, Community and Service. We have a current average attendance
of 50-80 people with all ages represented. Our current facilities include a sanctuary, gym, fellowship hall,
2 kitchens and classrooms.


Position Summary
The Pastor of Trailview Church will be a fully-devoted follower of Christ who effectively communicates
God’s Word and who is able to shepherd God’s people. He will be the primary teacher/preaching elder
and will lead the elder team to create and implement vision and direction for Trailview to accomplish its
mission and purpose. He will connect well with individuals and help them to become connected with
others in the larger body by promoting appropriate and healthy relationships.


This full-time position reports to the Elder Team.
Schedule – regular office hours, 1 full day off/week; work schedule to be flexible based on 40 hrs/week

Primary Job Responsibilities and duties

  • Responsible for leading Trailview Church in the implementation of a Christ-centered mission and
    vision.
  • Serve as primary teacher/preacher of the church. We believe the primary way to lead in the
    church is through teaching and modeling the Bible.
  • Work closely with the elders, staff, and leadership to implement strategic plans in line with our
    core values (see below)
  • Sets the example for building relationships, working to spiritually strengthen members and
    attendees through preaching, teaching, prayer, and providing oversight as we seek to help move
    people toward a deeper relationship with Christ and one another.
  • Work with church leadership to create an intentional discipleship process to develop people to
    serve in ministry using their God given giftedness. This includes developing a new generation of
    church and ministry leaders.
  • Shepherding the congregation, demonstrating care and genuine love.
  • Overseeing the planning of all worship services.
  • Along with the elders, overseeing the general administration of the church. This includes
    providing supervision of other church staff as applicable.
  • Represent Trailview in the community
  • Promoting unity in the church towards growing in maturity and aligned with mission of the church

Qualifications and Skills

    • Biblically qualified in keeping with 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
    • Bachelor's degree in Theology, Divinity, or related – Seminary degree preferred and/or related
      experience; 3-5 years related experience and/or training
    • Strong Biblical understanding (Systematics and Biblical Theology) and continued education with
      Biblical studies
    • Excellent people and communication skills
    • Time management and ability to lead/manage other staff and their schedules
    • Team builder and team player
    • Self-motivated/self-lead individual (initiates projects on own)
    • Ability to prioritize and organize workload
    • Commitment to community outreach and evangelism as a local church
    • Previous experience in Lead Pastor or Associate Pastor Role (or equivalent experience with
      leading a team of full-time staff) preferred
    • Experienced in expository bible teaching.
    • Alignment with Trailview’s Statement of faith

Compensation:
Trailview Church is offering the following compensation package:

  • Salary + housing allowance
  • Insurance allowance available
  • Personal expense account (annually) - clothes, meals, etc...
  • 3 weeks vacation initially
  • Support for continuing education
  • Relocation assistance will be considered

We are located at 1530 Riley Rd, Lebanon IN 46052. Lebanon is the Boone County seat and boasts a
diverse population of approximately 17,000 residents. There are an estimated 6,972 households with
60% being married couples. The demographic makeup includes a blend of families, professionals, and
retirees, contributing to a rich tapestry of experiences and backgrounds. The median age is 34.9 years
and the median household income is $63,125, approximately the same as the total state of Indiana.

agricultural roots, the city has seen growth in sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, and technology.
Recent trends indicate a focus on fostering entrepreneurship and small business development,
contributing to economic resilience and job creation within the community. Boone county has several
large scale investments in progress, including a $3.7B manufacturing project projected to add over 700
jobs approx. 5 miles from Trailview.
